Reproductive Child Health Programme
ASRA focus on child and maternal health trough different field based health & hygienic activities and tried to improve the situation of maternal and child health in a better way. By considering the rate of maternal death, which is so high in comparison to other District and therefore ASRA effort for reducing maternal and child death rate with the support of District Health Department.
Activities
- Collected the data of pregnant mothers and new born babies
- Celebrated world breast feeding week.
- Organized demonstration camps on various issues e.g. ORS and preventions during deliveries
- Organized awareness camps especially for the malnourished children.
- Conducted IEC activities
- Organized ANC checkups.
Targeted Intervention Project
ASRA implement TI project in Dewas District with support of M.P. State Aids Control Society. Dewas District is ‘A’ grad district among all districts of MP state, based on the ground needs for the prevention of new STI and HIV infections. Project is focused on the core group containing Female sex workers.
The goal of project target group is to prevent new HIV and STI infections among the core group of DEWAS District in next 3 years. The objective is to cover all the Female Sex Workers (762).
Project Objective:
- To promote safe sexual practices through behavioral change communication amongst the targeted HRG members
- To provide quality STI treatment and counseling services to all FSWs .
- To promote condoms amongst targeted HRG population.
- To create an enabling environment for all the stakeholders in the targeted area.
- To mobilize the community for ownership of the programme for effective implementation.
- To establish/develop linkages with different government and non-government agencies for care and support of the HRG Dewas District.
Achievement
PILOT PROJECT ON COMMUNITY BASED APPROACH of STI/RTI SERVICE DELIVERY-
Out of 100 districts in India only ASRA Dewas (MP) and Jalpaigudi (West Bengal) have been selected by NACO for this pilot project. |
